Woman beaten up in Kaushambi | Woman assaulted in Kaushambi: Girl thrown out of house on 22nd day of love marriage, case registered against in-laws – Kaushambi News



A girl from Bharwari Napa of Kaushambi has lodged a complaint with the police station accusing her husband and father-in-law of assault. It is alleged that she was living in her in-laws’ house after having a love marriage with a young man from the town. Who was tortured and beaten for dowry on just the 22nd day of her marriage.

The police station has registered a case on the basis of the victim’s complaint and medical examination and started investigation. According to the station in-charge, legal action will be taken forward on the basis of the facts revealed during the investigation.

Late resident of Gandhi Nagar (Old Bazaar) of Bharwari. For the happiness of their daughter Rani Devi, Shyam Lal’s family married her favorite young man Shiva on 6 December. The daughter’s family did not give her dowry due to poverty. Rani Devi told, she was living in her in-laws’ house after marriage.

On December 28, the in-laws demanded a fridge, cooler and car as dowry. He was brutally beaten for expressing his inability. Not only this, he was thrown out of the house. The victim reached her parents’ home and informed her family about the incident. The family tried to compromise. When things did not work out, the victim lodged a complaint with the SP on Thursday. On the instructions of SP Brijesh Srivastava, Kokhraj police has registered a case against the accused husband Shiva, father-in-law Ramsevak and mother-in-law Geeta Devi.

Inspector CB Maurya said, the incident is related to a family matter. After registering the report, investigation has been started. Along with medical examination of the victim and recording of statement, action is being taken to record the statement of the accused party.
