The second day of the fifth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) in Sydney was in the name of the bowlers. 15 wickets fell on Saturday. Australia could score only 181 runs in the first innings, giving India a lead of 4 runs.

  • Virat Kohli has been out on a single digit score (10 or less) for the 10th time in the 2024-25 season. Rohit Sharma is also jointly at first place in this list.
  • This is only the second time in the last 70 years that this has happened at the Sydney Cricket Ground. When both the teams have scored less than 200 in their first innings (India 185 and Australia 181 runs). Earlier in 1979-80, England (123) and Australia (145) were all out for runs.

He has taken 32 wickets in the current season of Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He broke the record of Bishan Singh Bedi. Bedi took 31 wickets in the 1977–78 season.

2. Kohli’s average in Australia In the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25, Virat Kohli has been able to score only 190 runs in 5 matches. His average during this period has been 23.75. This is his lowest average on any Australian tour. In Australia, he scored 692 runs in 4 matches of the 2014-15 season.

Fastest Fifty for India Rishabh Pant has become the Indian batsman to score the fastest half-century against Australia. He completed his half century in just 29 balls in the second innings. Pant played an inning of 61 runs on 33 balls with the help of 6 fours and 4 sixes.

Most runs scored in the first over of a test by Indian players Yashasvi Jaiswal hit 4 fours on Starc in the first over of the second innings. He has become the batsman scoring the most runs in the first over of the innings in Test for India. Virender Sehwag and Rohit Sharma are at second and third place with 13-13 runs.
