Rohit Sharma is not playing in the fifth Test being played between India and Australia in Sydney. Many questions were raised when Rohit was not in the playing eleven. Rohit said while talking to the broadcaster on Saturday – I have not taken retirement.

Rohit said- Dropped himself due to poor form in Sydney Test. It was difficult to take this decision, but it was taken in the interest of the team. It is our decision as to who should remain in the team or not. No one else can decide.

Rohit further said- Four-five months ago, my captaincy and my ideas were very useful. Suddenly these things started being considered bad. Runs are not being scored today, but there is no guarantee that you will not be able to score runs in the future.

Rohit, struggling with poor form, could score only 31 runs in BGT-2024. Indian captain Rohit Sharma has been a flop in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He could score only 31 runs in 5 innings of 3 Tests. His average has been 6.20. In the year 2024, he has been able to score only 131 runs at an average of 24.76.
