The nature of the world’s largest cultural, spiritual and historical event of Mahakumbh, which is going to be held in Prayagraj, will be seen to be changed this time. Apart from the fair area, preparations are also being made to give a new look to the city. Prayagraj will return to its ancient glory before Mahakumbh 2025.

Tribute to the sacrifice of unnamed immortal martyrs This martyr memorial wall, dedicated to the immortal martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country, has been prepared at a cost of Rs 2.5 crore by Prayagraj Smart City Limited at Civil Lines, MG Marg of the city under the Smart City Mission. Prayagraj is the place of martyrdom of immortal martyr Chandrashekhar Azad and is also a witness to the sacrifice of Thakur Roshan Singh. Apart from these immortal martyrs, there are many unnamed martyrs in the district whose sacrifices the new generation is still not aware of. Martyr Wall has been constructed to bring to light the story of sacrifice of these unsung martyrs. In this project, the biographies of 29 freedom fighters from all over India, including Prayagraj, who sacrificed their lives for India’s independence, have been honored. This wall will introduce the visitors and city residents to the rich history of Prayagraj, its contribution in the freedom struggle and cultural heritage.

* On this wall, spiritual pictures of martyrs have been engraved along with their biographies. * The wall is made of red sand stone brought from Banaras. * Along with the murals of 29 martyrs, 8 large murals have also been installed on the wall. * One water cooler has been installed at both ends of the wall. * To further enhance its beauty, water fountain, five pergolas, LED flood lights and decorative lampposts have also been made. * Horticulture and greenery work has also been done around the wall. * It also has a space made of special floor stone for the tourists to sit.

Illumination towers add to the beauty of Prayag at night The illumination towers built in Prayagraj under the Smart City Mission have become the center of attraction in the city, especially at night. Under this project, three shining towers have been installed at Balsan intersection at a cost of Rs 44 lakh. Two of these towers are 7 meters high, while one tower is 10 meters high. These towers are completely equipped with LED lights, which not only enhances the beauty but also reduces energy consumption. These towers are made completely of dust and water proof material. In view of events like Maha Kumbh, these towers have been installed to make Prayagraj attractive and spectacular, which will further enhance the grandeur of the city.
