On the evening of November 18, a shopkeeper had thrown hot oil on a 12-year-old child in Kotwali Dhaurahra area in Lakhimpur Kheri. Suresh Kashyap, a resident here, sells chaat and pakodas on a cart. Pappu Kashyap from the same village came to eat pakodas with his nephew Vikas (12). Suresh, the street vendor, asked to pay the previous dues of Rs 10, on which Pappu got angry. As the dispute escalated, Suresh got angry and poured boiling oil, which fell on Vikas standing nearby. The teenager suffered serious burns.
Police covered up for one and a half month After the incident, Pappu reached CHC Ramiyabehar with his nephew, where after first aid he was referred to the district hospital. On November 19, Pappu lodged a complaint at Dhaurahara police station. But the surprising thing is that the police tried to suppress the matter for one and a half months.
Sections changed, accused sent to jail The police were negligent in taking initial action against the accused Suresh. But when the pressure increased, after one and a half months, serious sections were added to the FIR and the accused was sent to jail. Kotwal Dhaurahara says that the sections have been increased on the basis of the investigation report.
