A youth died in police custody in Lakhimpur Kheri. Youth dies in police custody: Family members accuse police of murder – Nighasan News


A case of death of a youth in police custody has come to light in Lakhimpur Kheri. The family members have accused the police of beating the youth. The deceased youth has been identified as Ramchandra (36 years), who along with some other people of the village was going to collect rust from Jalauni girl.

Ramchandra son of Lalta Prasad, 36 years old, resident of Hulasi Purva village of Majhgai police station area, who along with some people of the village had gone to pick Jalauni girl in the forest about 6 kilometers away from the village in Dohra, when the police of Nighasan Kotwali and Majhgai police station reached the spot. Arrived and arrested him on charges of making illegal liquor.

After the police took him to Nighasan police station, they beat him badly there, after which the youth’s health deteriorated. Police personnel immediately took him to Community Health Center Nighasan, where doctors declared him dead.

Family members created ruckus

The family members received the news of the youth’s death at night, and when they reached the hospital, the atmosphere there was sad. The deceased’s two younger sons, Amar (5 years) and Samar (3 years), and wife Poonam are in a bad condition and crying. The family members have alleged that the police murdered the young man and he died due to beating.

The police snatched the body of the deceased from the family members, kept it in an ambulance and sent it for postmortem. No police officer has given any open statement in this entire matter. No official statement has come from the police.
