Doubt over Australian captain Cummins playing in Champions Trophy: Ankle injury problem; Tournament will start from 19th February

Australia recently won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 3-1 against India under the captaincy of Pat Cummins.
There is doubt over Australian captain Pat Cummins playing in the ICC Champions Trophy. Cummins has an ankle injury, for which he will have to undergo a scan. Australia’s Chief Selector George Bailey has given an update on the fitness of Pat Cummins.
Bailey said, Pat is about to become a father for the second time, for which he is currently on a break. He has a slight injury to his ankle. He will undergo a scan next week, after which we will have an accurate idea of the status of his injury. When he was asked whether Cummins would be able to play in the Champions Trophy, he replied, nothing can be said right now. The decision will be taken only after seeing the scan report.
Australia recently won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 3-1 against India under the captaincy of Pat Cummins. Cummins was the team’s top wicket taker in BGT.

Australia’s first match with Pakistan in Champions Trophy The Champions Trophy 2025, hosted by Pakistan, will start from February 19 and continue till March 9. 15 matches will be played in 19 days. A reserve day has also been kept for the second semi-final and final. Australia is in Group-2 along with England, South Africa and Afghanistan. Kangaroo team will play its first match against Pakistan on 22 February.
Pakistan has got the hosting of the Champions Trophy.
Cummins will miss the test series against Sri Lanka The Australian team has been announced for the Test series against Sri Lanka. Cricket Australia announced the 16 member squad on Thursday. Regular captain Pat Cummins will miss this series. In his absence, the team will be captained by Steve Smith.
WTC final will be played between Australia and South Africa The final of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 will be played between Australia and South Africa. The final match will be played at Lord’s ground from June 11. Australia has reached the final for the second consecutive time, but South Africa will play the final for the first time. Australia defeated India by 209 runs in the final match played in 2023.
