There has been a stir after the recovery of 27 bags of Public Distribution System (PDS) rice from a closed rice mill in Bilsanda area of Pilibhit. On receiving information about the presence of government rice in the closed warehouse of the rice mill located near the canal culvert on Bisalpur Road, Naib Tehsil.

After the issue of reduction in ration of the poor came to light, higher officials instructed District Supply Officer (DSO) Vikas Kumar to conduct an investigation on the spot. However, the DSO did not inspect the spot. A report has been sought from SDM level in the matter.
The process of filing FIR against the warehouse owner is being delayed by the fulfillment department. Officials say that the supply department has been instructed to register an FIR, but no concrete action has been taken yet.
