Jiya Shankar was spotted around the city when the paparazzi questioned her regarding who she was supporting in Bigg Boss 18. Jiya was quick to respond that this time she is supporting herself leaving everyone laughing. The actress was seen in a chic casual look. She wore a graphic tee with a pleated short skirt, long blue socks and white slip ons. Meanwhile, the contestants in Bigg Boss 18 are striving hard to secure a spot for themselves in the finale week and the season is expected to conclude this month.

Jiya Shankar made her acting debut in the Telugu film Entha Andanga Unnave, co-starring Ajay Manthena. She later acted in the Tamil movie Kanavu Variyam. Jiya made her television debut with Love by Chance, featuring Karan Singhmar. She has also appeared on various television shows, including Laal Ishq and Pishachini, among others. She has starred in the web series Virgin Bhasskar.

Speaking about struggling in the industry and facing rejections, she told Pinkvilla, “Hum actors na hume aadat ho gayi hai. Matlab rejection toh…we have started taking it so positively ki agar ek cheez se tumhe rejection mil raha hai toh you always think ki isse better kuch or hoga. Ye cheez nahi ho rahi hai tumhare liye toh kuch aur hoga acha (We actors have been accustomed to it. I mean, rejection… We’ve come to take things so positively that if you’re rejected for one thing, you always believe there will be something better. If something isn’t working for you, something nice will come along).”

The actress is also known for her role as Sushila in Kaatelal and Sons. She also acted in the Marathi romantic thriller Ved, which starred Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza. Jiya rose to prominence in the Marathi cinema industry thanks to her exceptional acting abilities. She dabbled with hosting before competing on Bigg Boss OTT 2.
