General Secretary of Roadways Employees Joint Council, Girish Chandra Mishra said that this demand was being made by the contract drivers and conductors for a long time. There was a long discussion with the Managing Director regarding the demand for increasing the honorarium (remuneration) in the months of August and December of the year 2024, after which it was assured that the increase in the honorarium of contract drivers-conductors will be implemented soon.

Girish Chandra Mishra said that now it has been implemented that from January 1, 2025, the honorarium of contract drivers has been increased by 17 paise per kilometer and the honorarium of contract operators has been increased by 13 paise per kilometer. Along with this, instructions have been issued to give 9% increase to top class drivers and 7% increase to conductors from January 10. This will benefit approximately 28 thousand contract drivers and conductors.

Girish Chandra Mishra said that our demand is that the honorarium of contract drivers and operators of NCR area and suburban depots should also be increased. Along with this, an appeal has been made to all the employees of the Transport Corporation to work with full honesty and dedication on the occasion of Mahakumbh. Every driver, operator and employee of the transport department will play an important role in the successful organization of Maha Kumbh.
