Northern Railway Men’s Union General Secretary Comrade Shivgopal Mishra and others attended the Khichdi banquet.
Comrade Shivgopal Mishra, General Secretary of Northern Railway Men’s Union, said that he informed about the discussions held so far with the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister regarding the old pension. He said that the interests of the employees have been given priority. He said that if the suggestions of the employees are not included in the Pension Gazette, a joint movement will be announced soon.

Chairman of State Employees Joint Council, Mr. Harikishore Tiwari said the council is currently in a “wait and watch” state. He said that as soon as the 8th Pay Commission is constituted and the Pension Gazette is released. After studying it, the personnel of the Center and the State will together make a strategy for a national movement.

The program was conducted by Council General Secretary Shivbaran Singh Yadav. In the general meeting held before the Khichdi banquet, a demand was made to increase the deduction limit under **section 80C** of income tax. The employees proposed to increase the limit of standard deduction which has been the same for ten years to Rs 1.5 lakh.
