On Friday evening, Pankaj made the excuse of respiratory problem, after which he was admitted to the district hospital. The next day, late Saturday evening, he escaped from the hospital. This incident has raised serious questions on the functioning of the jail administration and police.
According to ASP Kalu Singh, the police have formed special teams to search for the absconding prisoner. He has assured that the accused will be caught soon. The incident is related to the kidnapping case registered in November, when Pankaj was arrested.
