Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca, who helmed the London side to a 5-0 thrashing of Fourth Division side Morecambe in their third round of the FA Cup clash, voiced that he hopes to carry the momentum into the Premier League as the Blues take on high-flying Bournemouth on Wednesday.

Chelsea surged to the second spot in the PL on the back of a string of victories, but have dropped down to fourth in the table on the back of four winless games in the English top-flight.

“Hopefully we can build some momentum but Bournemouth will be a very different game,” Maresca said.

“They are a very good team, very tough, very intense,” the Italian added.

Maresca would be boosted by the return of star defender Reece James and midfield general Romeo Lavia, who both featured in the Blues’ most recent FA Cup win. Noni Madueke, who was sidelined from the game against Morecambe has also been declared fit ahead of the PL clash.

“We are very happy for both. They played 45 minutes and are available,” Maresca said.

“Since we started, we are trying to manage both because of their delicate situations.”

Chelsea might witness a couple of outgoing transfers in the ongoing window as some players look for more playing time, with Portuguese defender Renato Veiga tipped for a move to Borussia Dortmund despite having only joined Chelsea in July. However, Maresca did not comment on the possible switch.

“At the moment, I am not aware that there is an agreement for Renato,” Maresca said.

“Yesterday he was here working with us and today he will be here. At the moment, he is our player,” the 44-year-old said.

“The only thing I can say is that we bought Renato from Basel, he has played in different positions and has played well,” he signed off.
