A shocking case has come to light in Firozabad, where a wife has been found guilty of instigating her husband’s suicide. The court of ADJ and Additional Special Judge (POCSO) Awadhesh Kumar Singh on Monday sentenced accused Pushpa Devi to 7 years in jail.

The incident took place on March 6, 2021, when Rajesh, a resident of village Ghurkuan of Nagla Singhi area, committed suicide by hanging himself on a rosewood tree in the forest near Dhirpura Gas Plant. The deceased had made a video before dying, which later went viral on social media. In this video, Rajesh had blamed his wife for his death. The family members of the deceased alleged that Pushpa Devi used to talk to her lover, due to which Rajesh was mentally disturbed.
That’s why he took this step. In this case, the deceased’s father Shiv Narayan had lodged a police complaint against his daughter-in-law. The court has convicted Pushpa Devi on the basis of all the evidence and testimonies. Along with the jail sentence, the court has also imposed a fine of Rs 30,000. If she does not pay the fine, she will have to serve an additional three months of jail sentence.
