After Putin’s instructions, Russia had officially told that all the Indians in the army will be sent back. At the same time, after the strict stance of the Ministry of External Affairs and assurance from Russia, the hopes of eight families of Purvanchal have increased. In this, maximum number of 14 people had gone from Azamgarh and Mau, out of which three have died.
On the other hand, the family members have appealed to the government to bring back their head safely. The family members of these people trapped in the war have not talked to them for six months and their condition is also not known. However, till now two people from Purvanchal have died. Due to the efforts of the government, his body arrived but his companions could not.

10 youth from Azamgarh and 4 from Mau had gone to Rasiya
The Ministry of External Affairs on Tuesday once again showed a strong stance on the Indian citizens who came as workers on cook, guard or driver visas and sent them into the war as soldiers in Russia. Citing Vladimir Putin’s meeting with PM Modi, he said that Indians should be sent back home immediately.
Ten people including Kanhaiya, Ramchandra, Rakesh Yadav, Deepak, Dhirendra, Yogendra, Azharuddin Khan had gone from Azamgarh for guard jobs. In this, Azamgarh resident Rakesh Yadav arrived safely, while Kanhaiya Yadav died. His body could come to the village on the request of his family members. Deepak’s family has not been given any information till now.
On the other hand, four youths had gone from Mau, including Sunil Yadav, resident of Chandrapar, Shyam Sundar, resident of Koriyapar and Brijesh of Dubari, along with Vinod, resident of Chandrapar. Mau residents Shyam Sundar and Sunil have died in this. Brijesh returns with the help of the administration but Vinod is still trapped. The family members of all these people have accused Agent Vinod and asked the administration to take action.
Now Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal has again raised this issue strongly with the Russian side, Russia has now assured to send the Indians soon. After India’s objection, the recruiting agencies for the Russian army have stopped taking Indian youth.

Azamgarh’s family continues its efforts with the government
Seven families of Azamgarh have made every effort to bring back their father, brother and son. Have made rounds from officials to politicians. The family members have even knocked on the doors of the Ministry of External Affairs. Earlier, Azamgarh MP Dharmendra and ADG Zone Piyush Mordia came to the PM’s parliamentary office in Varanasi and expressed their pain.
Through registered letters and mail, External Affairs Minister S. Have appealed even to Jaishankar. Although everyone made efforts at their own level, the people of Azamgarh have not been able to return yet, and due to lack of communication, their current situation is not known.
According to administrative officials, out of 14 people, only 2 have returned. Three deaths have been reported in which one body was also brought to Azamgarh recently. While there is no trace of 9, their families had lost hope of their return due to lack of communication, hope has increased again due to India’s efforts.

Tears are flowing in 7 families of Azamgarh and the family members are hopeful of meeting their loved ones. Recently, when Ramchandra, Rakesh Yadav, Dhirendra, Yogendra, Azharuddin Khan had received a call, they were told that they were fraudulently sent to Russia and were told about the job of security guard, but they were sent there to fight the war.
Now bombs, bullets and gunpowder were going on everywhere. The dead bodies are scattered. We feel that this is the end of our life, we are alive but do not want to stay here. He said that not only us but many such Indians have been sent directly to the Russia-Ukraine war due to lack of understanding of the language.
Arvind Yadav’s family has not been able to talk to him for the last six months.
Agent Vinod had taken 14 workers with him.
Mau-Azamgarh district agent Vinod Azamgarh resident had gone to Russia in February with 14 people including his brother-in-law Kanhaiya Yadav. Sunil had gone to Russia with seven people including Shyamsundar Yadav to work as a security guard. The promise of salary of Rs 2 lakh per month was given. Vinod’s family last spoke to his father in April.
But, upon reaching there, the dream was shattered and we were given 15 days of military training and were thrown into the war against Ukraine. Kanhaiya died in the Ukraine-Russia war in the first week of December. Due to the fraud of the agent, three comrades have died untimely, Vinod has not been found yet.
Mau resident Brijesh Yadav was sent back to India with the help of the embassy after being injured.
Mau’s Brijesh still returned alive, tell the circumstances
Brijesh Yadav, a resident of Dharampur Vishunpur in Madhuban tehsil of Mau district, said that it was more difficult to return from there than it was easy to go to Russia. Due to his dream of getting a job abroad and earning big money, he got trapped in the trap of an agent.
He told that in February 2024, 14 youths from Mau and Azamgarh were sent to Russia by an agent on the pretext of security guard jobs. In this, he was going to get a salary of ₹ 2 lakh every month but his dream was shattered as soon as he reached there. These youth were given only 15 days of military training and were sent into the war against Ukraine.
Brijesh told that there was a drone attack on his group in July. Azamgarh resident Deepak was seriously injured in this attack and died. Brijesh himself was injured during the war. He was shot in the leg, after which he was admitted to the hospital. From there he contacted the family.
Training given to use different guns and grenades
Brijesh told that the first week after reaching Russia was normal. Was talking to the family every day. But after a week he was sent to another place by train. A Russian Army officer was also present, who took us to a training center where we were given training in using different guns and grenades. No one was listening to us there.
After training, we were divided into groups of four and taken into battle. Sunil Yadav, resident of Chandapar of Ghosi tehsil, was the first to lose his life in the war. A group of Sunil, Shyamsundar and two people were sent away from our group, where the death of Sunil and Shyamsundar was reported.
Told that a member of my group was martyred in a bomb attack. I was shot in my left leg. After this I was treated there. Told his ordeal to a local official. The result was that he was able to contact the embassy. It is alleged that after his recovery, an attempt was made to send him back to the war zone but due to pressure from the embassy, he was sent back home.
