Cold wave took the lives of two people in Hathras. In the last 24 hours, a retired bank employee and a woman have died of heart attack. The elderly lived alone, their relatives are in Canada, who have been informed.

Gurbachan Singh (72), resident of Hiralal Quarter, lived alone. His wife and son are in Canada. The body has been kept in the post-mortem house till the arrival of the family members. At the same time, a 65-year-old woman living in village Tehra of Chandpa area also died of heart attack.

Due to the cold wave, there has been an alarming increase in the number of heart patients in the district. There is a rush of patients in the district hospital, government MDTB hospital and private hospitals. Most of the patients suffer from chest pain, shortness of breath and blood pressure problems.

The body of the old man has been kept in the hospital.

Patients are being treated Chief Medical Superintendent of the District Hospital, Dr. Surya Prakash has advised people to exercise caution. He said that people should wear warm clothes, get their blood pressure checked regularly and eat a balanced diet. Especially the elderly and heart patients need to be extra cautious. Heart patients are being treated in the district hospital.
