A 24-year-old woman, who worked with a prominent IT company in Bengaluru, died after allegedly immolating herself over harassment by her uncle. The woman alleged that he had private and intimate videos of her.
The deceased, Suhasi Singh, took the drastic step on January 12 at a hotel near the city’s Kundalahalli area after 8 pm. Singh had used petrol to set herself ablaze.
The uncle, Praveen Singh, have been arrested following the incident.
According to the police, the incident took place when the duo reportedly met to “sort out the matter,” Deccan Herald reported.
The police have also recovered a pen drive from Praveen’s possession and sent it for forensic analysis. Further details are awaited in the case.
