Indian team announced for Champions Trophy today: Shami’s return possible, selection of Bumrah-Kuldeep will depend on fitness.

The Indian team for the Champions Trophy will be announced today. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar and captain Rohit Sharma will announce the team at 12:30 pm at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Mohammed Shami may return to the Indian team, while the selection of Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav will depend on fitness.

BCCI was waiting for the fitness report of fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. He suffered a muscle strain in his back during the Sydney Test in the Australia tour. Apart from Bumrah, Mohammed Shami is returning from injury. Whereas, Kuldeep Yadav had undergone surgery recently.

The Champions Trophy is to be held from 19 February to 9 March in 4 cities of Pakistan and UAE. These include Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi and Dubai. All the matches of the Indian team will be played in Dubai.

India will play its first match against Bangladesh The Indian team will play its first match against Bangladesh in the Champions Trophy. This match will be played on 20 February at Dubai International Stadium. The team’s second match will be against Pakistan on 23 February and the third match will be against New Zealand on 2 March.

India has been placed in Group A along with Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand. The two semi-finals of the tournament will be held on March 4 and 5. Whereas, the final will be played on March 9.

Selection of 11 players for ODI World Cup decided It is certain that 11 players who will play in the 2023 ODI World Cup will be selected in the Indian team. These include names like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. At the same time, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Shardul Thakur and Ravichandran Ashwin may be out of this team. Ashwin has retired.

Shardul was not selected in the team after Gautam Gambhir became the coach. On the other hand, Surya and Ishaan have got their cards dropped from the ODI team due to poor form and behaviour. In such a situation, the team management will have to find replacements for these players.
