Bunty Kumar, a resident of village Mudhibkapur, told in his complaint to the CHC superintendent that he had admitted his relative Yogesh for eye operation on January 12 in a private hospital located on Bulandshahr Road, Sayana. After the operation, when he bought the medicines prescribed by the doctors, he found out that they were expired. The patient’s eye condition worsened due to the use of these medicines.
The complainant has the bill for expired medicines and other evidence. He also complained to the hospital administration, but no action was taken. This case also raises questions on the functioning of the drug department officials, with whose connivance expired medicines are being sold indiscriminately in the city.
Strict action has been demanded from the Health Department in this matter. This incident highlights the serious flaws in the monitoring system of health services, which is playing with the health of the general public.
