Arrest warrant has been issued against former Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan. On Sunday, a court in the capital Dhaka has issued an arrest warrant for the Bangladeshi all-rounder in connection with two check bounce cases.

Apart from Shakib, names of three other people are also included in this warrant. Former Awami League MP Shakib has been living abroad since the overthrow of Sheikh Hasina government. About six months ago, Shakib was also accused of murder.

Chief Magistrate asked for report The court’s Chief Magistrate Ziadur Rehman issued the arrest warrant on Sunday and asked the police to submit a report on the order on March 24.

He said the warrant was issued because Shakib, who is also the chairman of an agricultural farm. In the earlier case of bounced cheque, he had not appeared in the court as per the court order. A warrant has also been issued against the director of the same farm, Ghazi Shahgir Hussain.

What is the whole matter? On December 15, 2024, Shakib Al Hasan’s name came up in the check bounce case. After this, on December 18, after the preliminary hearing, the court ordered him to appear on January 19.

IFIC Bank’s relationship officer Shahibur Rahman had filed the case on behalf of the bank, accusing Shakib and three people of failing to transfer 41.4 million Bangladeshi taka (Rs 2.95 crore) through two separate cheques.
