Vijendra Jangam explains – There is a religious belief that after marriage with Parvati, when Shiva wanted to donate to Lord Vishnu and Brahma, they refused to accept the donation. Even today, these same Jangam Sadhus go to the Sanyasi Akharas and narrate the stories and songs of Shiva. They earn their living from the donations received from them. They do not enter Vaishnav Akharas. They do not take the ‘offering’ with their hands, they turn their bell upside down and take Dakshina in it.
