Varun Tej, one of the most prolific actors in the South film industry, has treated fans to several noteworthy films. His on-screen charm and powerful performances draw audiences to the theatres. Varun Tej made his foray into the entertainment world as a child artist in Hands Up! Directed by Siva Nageswara Rao, the comedy-drama starred Varun Tej’s father Nagendra Babu and his uncle Chiranjeevi. He made his debut as a lead actor in the 2014 action romance Mukunda.
Over the years, Varun Tej experimented with his roles and featured in a wide genre of films. He has now established himself as one of the bankable actors in showbiz.
Born on January 19, 1990, Varun Tej comes from a filmy background. Besides Chiranjeevi, he is also the nephew of Telugu star Pawan Kalyan. South stalwarts Ram Charan and Allu Arjun are his cousins, alongside Allu Sirish, Sai Tej and Panja Vaishnav Tej.

Operation Valentine
Varun Tej impressed cinema-goers with his performance as Air Force officer Rudra in this aerial action thriller. Operation Valentine, helmed by Shakti Pratap Singh Hada, is based on the 2019 Pulwama Attack and the retaliatory Balakot Air Strikes by the Indian Air Force. Manushi Chillar, Navdeep, Paresh Pahuja, Ruhani Sharma and Mir Sarwar played pivotal roles.
Matka
Varun Tej’s swag-infused avatar in director Karuna Kumar’s Matka had us hooked. The period-action thriller is inspired by the life of Matka gambler Ratan Khetri. Matka narrates the rise of Vasu (Varun Tej) from a matka gambler to a gangster who gets betrayed by one of his close allies. The film also stars Meenakshi Choudhary, Nora Fatehi, Saloni Aswani, Satyam Rajesh and Srinivasa Reddy.
Varun Tej’s Upcoming Project
VT15
According to a report by Telugu One, Varun Tej has joined forces with director Merlapaka Gandhi for the tentatively titled project VT15. Produced under the banners of First Frame Entertainments, the untitled movie also features actor Satya, who received critical acclaim for the comedy thriller Mathu Vadalara 2.
VT15 is touted to be filmed over a 40-day schedule including South Korea. The movie is expected to hit the big screens in the summer of this year. An official confirmation regarding VT15 is still awaited.
