First know what vertiports are A vertiport is a special type of airport designed for vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft. In simple language, it is prepared for things like air taxi or drone. That is, there are no runways here, rather air taxis can fly and land directly above their place. Vertiports may also contain charging stations for electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.

Cargo from 100kg to 550kg First of all let’s talk about Blu Ray Aero. Company founder Amar told that this VTOL drone aircraft was named Blue Ray i.e. Neel Kanth. It is being trialled. It will be commercialized by 2028-29. This is a type of air taxi. Its range is 300 km once the fuel is charged. It can gain cargo weight of 100 kg.

Similarly, Sea Horse Air Limited is also a VTOL drone made of water. It can easily land and take off on ships with water. This does not require much space on the ship, just less space than a helipad. Sea Horse showcased its Sea Horse H-5 at the expo. With its range of about 450 km and maximum speed of 150 km per hour, it can gain a cargo weight of 550 kg.
Will be launched in the next three years Apart from cargo, both of them will work as passenger taxis. Both Sea Horse H-5 and Blue Jay have the capacity of one pilot and 4 passengers. Sea Horse’s senior designer Abhishek said that it has been designed for every season. That means this VTOL can go to the coastal area and return after delivering rescue and other equipment. India’s borders are mostly connected to the coastal area. In such a situation, Sea Horse H-5 can play an important role in this.

Which big cities can be connected together in air taxi? At present, the cities in India which are being talked about to be connected with the help of air taxi include cities like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai. Veetool flights between these cities may start soon. If this happens then it will become very easy to move from one place to another in these business cities.
Currently, if you go from Delhi to Gurugram, it takes about 60 to 90 minutes. If there is more traffic then this time increases even more. But, if you have to go from Delhi to Gurugram by air taxi, then the time will be only 7 to 8 minutes. The situation is similar with other cities also. For example, when Bengaluru will be connected to Electronics City through air taxi, it will take only 19 minutes to cover the distance of 51 kilometers between them.
