On the occasion of completion of 10 years of the Central Government’s ambitious scheme ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’, a special program was organized at Shamli Collectorate. District Magistrate Arvind Kumar Chauhan flagged off the publicity van of the Women and Child Development Department.

This publicity van will go to every village, town and locality of the district to spread the message of Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign. In the programme, a street play was also organized in the Collectorate premises, through which the message of importance of daughter and equality between son and daughter was given to the visiting citizens.

District Probation Officer Hamid Hussain said that this awareness campaign will run for the whole month. Through street drama, it was explained to the people why it is important to have both a son and a daughter in the family. A large number of people from rural and urban areas visiting Collectorate and Tehsil participated in the program and pledged to make this campaign successful.
