STF in-charge of Kanpur unit Shailendra Singh said that information was received that Mohammed Nadeem alias Sebu Raees, resident of Dadupur Padan Pratapgarh, who was wanted from Pratapgarh and was carrying a reward of Rs 50 thousand, is present in Kanpur. He was planning to rob a truck here. According to the STF in-charge, the team surrounded the accused and arrested him late on Tuesday night from the parking lot of Narwal Mod Jio petrol pump in Maharajpur. According to Shailendra Singh, SI Rahul Parmar, Head Constable Arvind Singh, Devesh Dwivedi, Ashok Rajput, Chandra Prakash Singh, constable Satyam Yadav etc. played an important role in arresting the accused.

The truck was looted after leaving the driver dead.

When the STF interrogated the arrested Mohammad Nadeem, he told that in December 2023, he along with his associates Gufran, Mahmood and Akil had robbed a truck parked on the roadside near Tiwari Dhaba. The driver of the truck was sleeping in it. He was beaten to death. At the time of the incident the driver had Rs 22 thousand. That too was looted by the accused along with the truck. The truck was loaded with cement sheets. Which the accused had sold to a shopkeeper in Bahraich. The accused also told that he himself does truck driving. He gets the trucks he loots destroyed.

Mohammad Nadeem is a gangster from Kotwali Pratapgarh.

Five criminal cases are registered against Mohammad Nadeem. Of which four cases are registered in Kotwali Pratapgarh and one in Fatanpur. In 2022, action was taken against the accused from Kotwali under the Gangster Act. Apart from this, cases of robbery, kidnapping, dacoity, forgery etc. have also been registered against the accused in the past.
