A shocking incident has come to light from Gorakhpur’s Lake View Apartment. On Monday afternoon, while returning home from school, three children of the same family got stuck in the lift of Lake View Apartment for half an hour. This is not the first incident, so the children calmly got out of the lift

After about 20 minutes, the lift was finally opened and the children were rescued. Meanwhile, late in the evening, transporter Dheeraj Singh was stuck in the lift of B Block for 8 minutes. The residents of Lake View Apartment Residents Welfare Society are very upset due to these continuous incidents.

According to the information, Rajiv Yadav’s 15-year-old daughter Ankita, 13-year-old son Avanish and 11-year-old Ansh, who live in B Block 504 of Lake View Apartment. The children study in Little Flower School located in GIDA, Sahajanwa. On returning on Monday afternoon, they entered lift number 04, which was installed by Rolex Elevator Private Limited. The lift stopped after the lights suddenly went off. Initially, the children thought that it was a power outage, but as time passed, they realized that they were stuck in the lift. The children were stuck in the lift from 2:20 to 2:40. On receiving the call, the gatekeeper, along with his father Rajiv Yadav and others, rescued the children. After this, in the evening, Dheeraj Singh, a transporter of Block No. 03, unexpectedly got stuck in the lift, but he was rescued within 8 minutes. Till now the lifts in Block No. 04 and Block No. 03 have not been repaired.

12 deficiencies were found in the lifts during audit, yet they were not repaired
Lake View Apartment Residents Welfare Society Taramandal’s president Sanjay Shukla, secretary Dr. Purnesh Narayan Singh, vice-president Mohan Singh, office bearer Anil Kumar Sharma, manager Manindra Prasad and members Vijay Shankar Mishra, Vinod Kumar Singh, Mahendra Kumar Mishra and Rajiv Yadav said that the authority’s eyes will open only when a major incident occurs. It is alleged that the authority has installed 06 lifts in this 08-storey building. An audit conducted by another firm revealed 12 deficiencies in the lifts. The problems have persisted since the building was handed over to the society in December 2023. Despite informing the authority, no solution has been found.

GDA Vice President Anand Vardhan said that the matter was brought to my notice by the society officials. The proprietor of Rolex Elevator, the firm that installed the lift, has been called. A permanent solution to the problem will be found soon.
