35 people on board drowned when the boat capsized in Banda on Thursday. In which 17 people are said to be missing. While 15 people came out by swimming. Local divers and fire brigade have recovered the bodies of three people. The rescue operation was called off at 8 pm. In which all the villagers are involved. And the program of dancing and singing goes on. After which the women travel to the river Yamuna. But this afternoon the fair has not been organized due to the sinking of the boat.

Eyewitnesses say, “More than 10 people may have died. The boat had a seating capacity of 20 people. Apart from 35 people, some motorcycles were also loaded.” SP Abhinandan, who reached the spot, said, “The bodies of a man, a woman and a one-year-old child have been found.”

The boat overturned as soon as it reached the middle edge

On Rakshabandhan, women and other people from Samgra village had reached Marka Ghat. 35 people had boarded the boat to cross the Yamuna river to Asothar Ghat in Fatehpur district. As soon as the boat reached the middle stream in the Yamuna river, the balance got disturbed and it overturned.

KP Yadav, who had escaped from the river, said, “I had come to Samdhara from Lucknow. Samdhara was leaving his wife and was going to his sister’s house to tie a rakhi. I had to go to Baraichi. I was going alone on a motorcycle. I was on a boat on a motorcycle. Ride along, my bike sank.”

Yadav said, “I somehow managed to get out with the help of bamboo. The hull of the boat suddenly broke. Due to the strong current, the boat became unbalanced. The boatman could not handle it. After that the boat capsized. Some people have survived. But not many people have come out yet.”
