Due to the strong winds during heavy rains in Hardoi on Thursday night, transformers were burnt at some places and wires were broken at some places. Trees got uprooted and fell on many roads. A tree fell right in the middle of the road in front of the Education Minister’s residence on Lucknow Road. Due to which the National Highway was blocked.

The electricity system was greatly affected due to heavy rain and storm. In many areas, there was a complete power outage. Due to which people could not even charge their mobiles. The same is the condition of the city. Here transformers got burnt, and somewhere wires got broken. Due to this, electricity has been cut off in the homes of more than fifty thousand consumers.

There was a big problem of power tripping on Thursday in various localities of the city including Mohalla Koshalpurri, Numaish Purva, Subhashnagar, Munne Miya Chauraha, Sarai Thok Purvi, West Moiminabad. After this, the power went off at around 10 pm. The power remained off till five in the morning. This also affected the water supply from the municipality. Amidst the rain, power had to be cut in towns like Mallawan, Madhoganj, Bilgram, Kursath, Harpalpur, Balamau, Beniganj, Tardiyawan etc.

Executive Engineer Surya Kumar said that the supply was disrupted due to a fault. Repair work was also hampered due to rain. After the rain stopped, the fault was rectified and the supply was restored.

A tree fell in front of the minister’s residence

A tree fell on the road in front of the residence of the state’s Minister of State for Higher Education, Rajni Tiwari, on Lucknow-Palia National Highway-731 late Thursday night amid heavy rain and storm. Due to which the movement on both sides was stopped. Meanwhile, a long queue of hundreds of vehicles was formed for hours. Meanwhile, the police also reached there and after calling a crane, the tree was removed from the middle of the road after a lot of hard work. After this, traffic could resume again.
