The 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has formally started. Today i.e. on Monday evening, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur will inaugurate this function in Goa. Earlier he inaugurated the NDFC Film Bazaar under IFFI.
Madhuri Dixit and Shahid Kapoor will perform at the opening ceremony. Madhuri Dixit will be given a special honor for her contribution to Indian cinema. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting gave this information through a tweet.
This ceremony will run from 20 to 28 November. Many stars including Salman Khan, Vijay Sethupathi, Anupam Kher, Pankaj Tripathi, Sara Ali Khan, Aditi Rao Hydari and Ayushmann Khurrana will participate in the event.
Anurag Thakur said- IFFI is getting bigger with every passing year.
This time 250 films will be screened at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Many awards will also be given. While talking to the media before the inauguration ceremony, Anurag Thakur said – IFFI is becoming bigger with every passing year. Behind this is the hard work and dedication of all the filmmakers across the country.
Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi also wants that our country should continue to progress in the field of art and culture. It is getting a platform through IFFI. The growth of media and entertainment industry in India is 20% annually. Today we are one of the 5 largest markets in the world.

Special things related to the event
- This ceremony will start from 20th November till 28th November in Panaji, Goa.
- Madhuri Dixit and Shahid Kapoor will perform at the opening ceremony.
- The ceremony will be inaugurated by Union Minister Anurag Thakur.
- 250 films will be screened in these 8 days. The British film Catching Dust is the first film to be screened.
- Hollywood actor-producer Michael Douglas will be given the ‘Satyajit Ray Life Time Achievement Award’.
- Aparshakti Khurana and actress Karishma Tanna will be the hosts of the ceremony.
- Big actors like Salman Khan, AR Rahman, Anupam Kher, Vicky Kaushal, Sidharth Malhotra, Vidya Balan, Shreya Ghoshal, Aditi Rao Hydari and Pankaj Tripathi will grace the ceremonies in these 8 days.
- Ayushmann Khurrana and singer Amit Trivedi will perform in the closing ceremony.
