There was a lot of activity in Dasna Jail of Ghaziabad also on Karva Chauth. A total of 163 women are lodged in Ghaziabad’s Dasna jail. Out of which there are 30 women prisoners whose husbands are also in jail. The jail administration had made arrangements for everything from karve to new clothes and other materials.

67 women kept fast on Karva Chauth
Ghaziabad Dasna Jail Superintendent Sitaram Sharma said that like every festival, Karva Chauth was also celebrated inside the jail. A total of 163 women prisoners are lodged in Dasna jail. Out of which 67 women kept the fast of Karva Chauth.
Husband of 30 female prisoners is also in the same jail
The special thing was that out of these 67 women, there are 30 women prisoners whose husbands are also lodged in the same jail. On the festival day, women were given all the puja material as well as new clothes. All the fasting women broke their fast after seeing the moon, performed puja and applied tilak on their husbands.
