The Lucknow police on Tuesday arrested 7 accused who were robbing people by black marketing of oxygen amid the epidemic of Kovid 19 in Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow. Empty and filled 110 oxygen cylinders were also recovered from them. Gomtinagar, Gudamba and Naka police have arrested 7 accused in the ongoing actions to curb the black marketing of drugs and oxygen.
According to the information, 87 cylinders and Rs 100,390 were seized from them, holding Vishnuji, a resident of Balaji Jeevandayani gas in Gudamba in the city, Vishnuji, a resident of Kalyanpur, and his fellow Gonda resident Vikas Kumar. Gomtinagar police arrested Iqrar Ali and Ayush Shukla and recovered 18 oxygen cylinders from them. Similarly, Naka Kotwali police arrested Anil Kumar, Sajid and Jitendra Kumar and caught 5 cylinders.
Ongoing action against black marketers
Police Commissioner DK Thakur says that action is going on as a campaign against black marketing of drugs and oxygen. According to ADDG Law and Order Prashant Kumar, 89 people have been arrested so far in 87 cases of black marketing of oxygen across the state. The highest number of 36 cases have been reported in Lucknow alone.
