The Enforcement Directorate (ED) team has camped in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. That criminal is engaged in marking the property of Vikas Dubey and his relatives.
In Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has camped in Kanpur to gather details of the property of 29 people, including criminals Vikas Dubey and Jayakant alias Jai Bajpayee. If sources are to be believed, a 7 member team of ED has come to Kanpur. The team has also interrogated the people associated with the culprit Vikas Dubey and Jayakant Bajpai. It is believed that soon the ED police may take major action against others including Jayakant alias Jai Vajpayee, who is associated with the culprit Vikas Dubey who was killed in the encounter.
Sources said that a seven-member ED team led by deputy director rank officer reached Kanpur. The team looked at properties related to Vikas Dubey spread in areas like Jariv Chowki, Kalyan Pur, Panki etc. These include houses, hotels, hospitals and a petrol pump. ED also inspected a medical store in Nawavganj.
The ED team has also interrogated advocate Saurabh Bhadauria who complained against Jai Bajpai. Saurabh has handed over registrations of 27 properties linked to ED to Jai Bajpai. The names of some associates have also been reported to the ED. Saurabh confirmed to be questioned by ED. Apart from this, ED has also questioned a total of 17 people, including a BJP leader, medical store operator.
The Chief Minister had recommended to conduct an inquiry with the Enforcement Directorate
The SIT was formed under the chairmanship of Senior IAS Sanjay Bhusreddy to investigate the Bikeru scandal. In the report submitted by the SIT to the government in October last year, it was said that with the help of Vikas Dubey, there are about 29 such people who have accumulated assets of about 150 crore rupees. Later on December 2020, the Chief Minister recommended the investigation of the properties of Vikas Dubey and associates from the Enforcement Directorate on the basis of SIT’s investigation.
What was the matter
Gangster Vikas Dubey and his henchmen opened fire on the police team that went to Dabish on the night of July 2, 2020 in Bikaru village of Chaubepur police station area in Kanpur. In this, eight policemen including CO were killed. Only after executing the incident, Vikas Dubey had run away in the night and hid near his colleagues.
On July 9, Vikas Dubey was arrested from the Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. On July 10, the police had an encounter in Bhaunti, Kanpur. Vikas tried to run away when the vehicle overturned in Bhaunti and was killed in an encounter. Five of his accomplices were also killed in the encounter and 36 people are in jail in this case.
