Crime has also started in Meerut as soon as it is unlocked. The miscreants stole goods worth Rs 80 lakh by breaking the locks of the closed house of a retired inspector from Rapid Action Force in Kankarkheda area of Meerut. The thieves stole more than 10 lakh cash and diamond, gold and silver jewelery worth about 70 lakh rupees.
Prem Raj Singh, a resident of Mangalpuri of Kankarkheda police station area, had retired from Rapid Action Force 108 vehicle Meerut in 2018. At this time, he has opened a grocery shop in the house. On Wednesday afternoon, the retired inspector along with his family went to the daughter’s house at Shastri Nagar in the city, about 15 km from the house. During this, thieves broke the locks of the locked house and stole jewelery worth Rs 10 lakh and Rs 70 lakh kept in it. Today, when the victim’s family came to know about the theft, they informed the Kankarkheda police. Inspector Kankarkheda Tapeshwar Sagar reached the spot and investigated. There were no CCTV cameras installed anywhere in and around the house. The victim told that some time ago I had sold a plot and the plot money was kept in the house.
Prem Raj Singh’s son Sachin is in the post of Division Accountant in the CAG. While daughter-in-law Savita Singh is a lecturer in Inter College in Saharanpur. All the jewelery of Premraj Singh’s daughter-in-law was also stolen. The whole family is in shock.
