Jailed SP leader Azam Khan has again received a big blow from the Allahabad High Court. Allahabad High Court rejected the petition of Maulana Mohammad Johar University Trust. The trust had challenged the UP government's decision to cancel the lease in the Allahabad High Court. Court No. 21 of Allahabad High Court, while giving its verdict, rejected the petition itself. The double bench of Justice Manoj Kumar Gupta and Justice Kshitij Shailendra gave its verdict. The bench dismissed the petition, upholding the UP government's decision to cancel the trust's lease. Allahabad High Court said that the petition was filed regarding the lease matter of Rampur Public School related to Maulana Mohammad Johar University Trust of Rampur. After completion of hearing on the trust's petition, Allahabad High Court had reserved the decision on 18 December 2023.

Both sides had challenged the action of Uttar Pradesh government.
