In the night, some youths beat up a young man severely over an altercation over a trivial matter near Anandpuri Petrol Pump on Roorkee Road in the city Kotwali area. A huge crowd gathered at the spot. The matter became tense as both the parties belonged to different classes. The police have sent the injured youth to the district hospital for treatment. Two youths have been detained by the police.
