The JKBOSE has received several requests from students to reschedule board examinations due to clash with JEE Main 2024

The annual regular examination of class 11 in the soft zone area has been postponed by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on March 28. The board has also revised the examination schedule for classes 10th, 11th, and 12th in hard zone areas. This decision came from the board to prevent any overlap with the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
In an official notification, Board of School Education Director Academics stated that it received instructions from the Joint Chief Electoral Officer of J&K (Jammu) regarding the schedule for the conduct of the Lok Sabha Election 2024, requesting to ensure that no date of examination clashes with the dates of election in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
โAll the concerned are informed that the upcoming class 11th annual regular examination 2024 in Soft Zone and Annual Regular 2024 examinations of classes 10th, 11th, and 12th in Hard Zone Areas have been revised. With that said, examination shall be now held on rescheduled dates in two Sessions i.e., morning and evening shift,โ reads the official notification.
According to the revised date sheet, the examination for Class 10 (Hard Zone) will now be conducted from April 4 to May 9, 2024, while Class 11 exam (Hard Zone) is scheduled to take place from April 22 to May 26, 2024. However, exams for Class 12 (Hard Zone) will begin from April 8 and will run until May 9, 2024. Talking about the Class 11 (Soft Zone), the exam will take place from April 2 to May 1, 2024.
The official notification further states that the National Testing Agency is conducting Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2024, session-2 from April 04 to April 15. The JKBOSE has received several requests from students to reschedule board examinations in this respect.
In addition to that, the Jammu and Kashmir State Council of Educational Research and Training (JKSCERT) published a revised date sheet for Middle Standard Examination for soft and hard zones of session 2023-24. The Middle Standard examination will begin from April 02 and will culminate on April 15 in both soft and hard zones. The council announced that the Middle Standard Examination 2023-24 has been postponed from 11.00 AM to 10.00 AM.
โThe Complex Heads shall ensure that all the SOPs for the conduct of examination are followed in letter and spirit,โ reads the official notice by JKSCERT.
