There are 11 candidates in the fray for Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat, but here the contest is being seen only between BJP and SP. Here today, long queues of voters were seen at the polling stations from 7 o’clock in the morning, but as soon as the temperature reached 44 by 12 o’clock,

Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat which includes Sadar and Rath Assembly of Hamirpur, Sadar and Charkhari Assembly of Mahoba and Tindwari Assembly of Banda. Voting here, which started at 7 in the morning, gained momentum and by 1 o’clock the turnout had crossed 40 percent.

But as soon as the temperature crossed 44 and seeing the heat wave, voters did not come out of their homes, due to which the voting was significantly affected. Here only polling personnel along with security personnel were seen at most of the polling stations. After 4 pm, voters once again turned towards the polling stations and till the end of voting, only 60.36 percent voting could be done.

At present, voters in Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat have captured their votes in EVMs. All the EVM machines were kept in the strongroom located in Sumerpur Galla Mandi under heavy security. Now, on June 4, it will be known whether two-time Hamirpur MP Pushpendra Singh Chandel will be successful in scoring a hat-trick or whether Ajendra Singh Rajput from Samajwadi Party or Innocent Dixit from BSP will be able to defeat him.
