2 medical colleges of Rajasthan included in the list of top 50 medical colleges across the country
According to the ranking of the year 2023, AIIMS Jodhpur is ranked 13th in the list of top 50 colleges in the country and first in the state. After this, Sawai Man Singh Medical College of Jaipur is ranked 46th in the country and second in the list of top colleges in the state.
1. All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Jodhpur
AIIMS Jodhpur ranks first in the list of top medical colleges in the state. To get admission in AIIMS MBBS program, it is necessary to qualify NEET UG exam after 12th. This test is conducted by NTA. After the entrance exam, Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) conducts counseling on the basis of merit list and cut-off.
Apart from MBBS, the institute also offers Post Graduation, MD Hospital Management, Super Specialization, Fellowship Programs and PhD courses.
This year, MPH (Master of Public Health) and Executive Program in Public Health Policy, Leadership and Management have also been started. For this, students who have passed MBBS, BDS, AYUSH course from medical background and students who have passed non-medical background – Nursing, Veterinary Sciences, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Nutrition course can also apply.

2. Sawai Man Singh Medical College, SMS Jaipur
Sawai Man Singh Medical College, Jaipur is second in the list of best medical colleges in Rajasthan. It is necessary to qualify NEET UG for admission in MBBS course. Admission counseling is done by MCC on the basis of merit list and cut off score. After qualifying NEET PG and NEET SS in this medical college, you can also take admission in courses of MD, MS, – Post Doctoral McH, DM, Medicine and Allied Sciences.

On March 13, 1946, Lord Wavell laid the foundation of this medical college along with Maharaja Sawai Shri Mansingh of Jaipur. In July 1947, the college was started as the 15th medical education center of the country.

AIIMS, Bhopal is ranked 38th in the country in the NIRF ranking. It is the only medical college in Madhya Pradesh to be included in the top 50 medical colleges.
1. All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhopal
AIIMS Bhopal is at number one in the list of top medical colleges in the state. AIIMS has 42 different departments like anesthesiology, cardiology, dentistry, general surgery, microbiology, neurology, nursing college, pediatrics, pharmacology, psychiatry. Nursing college is also associated with the medical college of AIIMS Bhopal.
Courses: After 12th, you can take admission in MBBS and BSc Honors in Nursing in the institute. Apart from this, you can also do post graduate courses – MD, MS and McH courses in all these departments as well as MSc Nursing. Apart from this, you can also do Post Doctoral Certificate Course (PDCC), Post Graduate Certificate Course in Medical Management of CBRNE Diseases (PGCMDM) and PhD.

According to the NIRF rankings for the year 2023, Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow is ranked 7th in the list of top colleges in the country and first in the state. After this, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) of Varanasi is ranked 8th in the country and second in the list of top medical colleges in the state.
1. Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow
SGPGIMS, Lucknow is at number one in the list of top medical colleges in the state. 22 types of super specialist courses are taught in the college. Students who have passed MBBS in this college can take admission in medical post graduate courses i.e. super specialty – DM (Doctorate of Medicine) and McH (Master of Surgery). It is necessary to qualify NEET SS for these courses.
Apart from this, you can also take admission in MD and MS courses in the college through NEET PG. Apart from this, you can also do PhD in 10 branches like Anesthesiology, Cardiology, Clinical Immunology, Emergency Medicine and Rheumatology in the college.
On December 14, 1980, the then President Neelam Sanjiva Reddy laid the foundation stone of this college in the King George Medical University campus.

The college also offers Master in Hospital Administration and 1 year PG Diploma in Telemedicine and Digital Health. 2. Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi
The BHU Institute of Varanasi is not a separate college in itself. The university has three different streams for medical studies – Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Ayurveda and Faculty of Dental Sciences. The college has a total of 45 departments under three faculties.
This is how you will get admission: After qualifying NEET UG after 12th, you can take admission in MBBS program in the institute. Apart from this, you can also take admission in nursing course after 12th in college. For this, entrance exam is conducted at the university level.
The Institute was started in 1960 with 9 departments of Modern Medicine and 6 departments of Ayurveda.
3. King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow
KGMU, Lucknow is ranked 12th in the list of top medical colleges in the country and third in the state. The college has a total of 56 academic and clinical departments such as Anatomy, Biochemistry, Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Community Medicine, Dermatology, Forensic Medicine. The college offers studies in a total of 16 streams including regular MBBS, BDS, MDS, MD/MS.
This is how you will get admission: After 12th in college, you can take admission in MBBS course by qualifying NEET UG exam. Whereas, for MD/MS and superspeciality courses like DM/McH, it is necessary to qualify NEET-PG and NEET-SS.

4. All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh
AIIMS, Rishikesh is ranked 22nd in the list of top 50 medical colleges in the country and fourth in the state. Courses like MBBS, MD/MS, PhD, MDS are taught in the institute.
Apart from this, the institute also offers a total of 27 types of diploma, PG diploma and certificate courses. Courses like Diploma in Public Health, Diploma in Medical Radiotherapy, Certificate Program in SIT/HIV/AIDS MSc Nuclear Medicine are available in it. 5. Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh
The Faculty of Medicine of AMU Aligarh is ranked 28th in the list of top 50 medical colleges in the country and fifth in the state. Although it is not a separate medical college in itself, two medical colleges are attached to the Faculty of Medicine here. These are Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Dr. Ziauddin Ahmed Dental College.
Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College has a total of 25 departments. The Faculty of Medicine offers courses like MBBS, BDS, McH Plastic Surgery, MD/MS, MDS, PG Diploma, PhD, Paramedical Courses and BSc Radiotherapy.
