BJP has nominated former MLA Bahoran Lal Maurya as its candidate for the by-election to be held on a vacant seat of the Legislative Council in UP. This seat was vacant after the resignation of Swami Prasad Maurya, who became MLC on the ticket of Samajwadi Party. It has not been decided yet

Nominations will be made by July 2
Nominations can be made till July 2. This seat is from the Vidhan Sabha quota. Only the members of the Vidhan Sabha vote in it. Voting for the UP Legislative Council by-election is to be held on July 12 from 9 am to 4 pm. Counting of votes will take place at 5 pm.
Bahoran Lal Maurya is the former MLA from Bhojipura
Bahoran Lal Maurya has been a former MLA from Bhojipura from Bareilly. He lost the 2022 election to Shahjil Islam of SP. He has also been a former minister in BJP. BJP Bareilly media in-charge Preetpal alias Bunty Thakur said, BJP’s Central Election Committee has made Bahoran Lal Maurya a candidate in the upcoming Legislative Council by-elections to be held in UP. He is living in BDA Colony of Bareilly.
