Encroachment will be removed within a week
Everyone has been given a week’s time to remove the encroachment themselves. After this, the Municipal Corporation will take action. Municipal Commissioner Indrajit Singh has given instructions to the engineers in this regard. The Municipal Commissioner says that there is encroachment at many places on the big drains. The exercise to remove encroachment has been started from Maulviganj ward.
At many places here, some people have demolished the temporary constructions themselves. The engineering department of the Municipal Corporation has issued notices to the remaining people and asked them to vacate. This action will be taken on Hyder Canal, Sarkata Nala and Kila Mohammadi. The Municipal Commissioner says that, at many places in Mashkganj, some parts of the buildings have been constructed over the drain.
Balcony and ramp have been constructed
At many places, balconies and ramps have been built over the drain. Efforts will be made to demolish all of them. For this, the Municipal Corporation will also need police force. The Municipal Commissioner has also written a letter to the Police Commissioner for police force. The Municipal Commissioner said that many business establishments have been built over the big drain from Islamia College to Noor Manzil. Due to the ramp built over the drain, it is not possible to clean it.
There will be a meeting with the traders of Lalbagh
We will find a middle way by holding a meeting with the traders of that area of Lalbagh. The traders will be appealed to break the ramp built on the drain by themselves. If they do not do so, the Municipal Corporation will have to take action against encroachment. Municipal Commissioner Indrajit Singh said that breaking the ramps of the houses will lead to chaos during the rainy season. Breaking the ramps will also damage the drains of colonies at many places. Therefore, from December onwards, action will be taken against encroachment by issuing notices ward-wise.
