Rakesh Kumar, a clerk who audits in the office of the Joint Director of Secondary Education Council, has been arrested while taking bribe. Bribe was to be taken in installments, arrested in the first installment
Rupesh Kumar, a resident of Badaun Kotwali Mohalla Chaudhari Sarai Lalpur Mod, complained to the Anti Corruption Team. In which the victim said that my mother Saroj Devi retired from Nagar Palika Kanya Inter College Badaun on 31 December 2023. The file was sent from Badaun Education Office to the Joint Director’s Office of Bareilly Secondary Education Council for GPF fund and pension.
The auditor of this office, Rakesh Verma, was demanding a bribe of 1 lakh 25 thousand rupees in exchange for getting GPF fund and pension. He said that if the money is not available at once, then pay it in installments. The first installment of the bribe was fixed at 30 thousand. The rest of the money was to be given to the victim later. But the victim complained about it in writing to Anti Corruption.

Rakesh Verma was arrested by the Anti Corruption team while accepting a bribe of Rs. 30,000 in cash from the office behind the Joint Director Secondary Education Office. Rakesh Kumar is a resident of Kalibari in Bareilly. He will be produced in court today on Friday and sent to jail.
