There was chaos in the railway department after the information of smoke coming out from the wheel of Jodhpur Howrah Express passing near Gaipura railway station in Mirzapur. The train was stopped and the fire was extinguished. During this time the train remained stopped for about 15 minutes. After this it was sent forward.

An express train running on Jodhpur-Howrah down line caught fire on Wednesday. Passengers were shocked to see smoke coming out of the wheel of the AC bogie. The fire was controlled in time by GRP and railway department employees. Due to quick action, there was no loss of life or property.

It was told that Jodhpur Howrah Express train number 12308, which left from Prayagraj, was heading towards its destination. When it reached near Gaipura station of Mirzapur at 5:20 pm, smoke along with flames started coming out of the AC coach.

Passengers panicked after seeing the smoke

People travelling in the train saw fire coming out of it, after which there was panic among the railway passengers. The train was stopped immediately. Work to extinguish the fire was started. During this time, there was panic among the passengers travelling in the train for 15 minutes. After controlling the fire, the train was safely sent towards Howrah.

Prayagraj Railway Division PRO Amit Singh said that brake binding had occurred in Jodhpur Howrah Express. Which was corrected. After this, Jodhpur Howrah Express train was safely sent to Howrah. The railway heaved a sigh of relief when the train moved forward.
