School Safety Awareness Week is being organized in the schools of Ghazipur for the purpose of vigilance and safety. District Basic Education Officer Hemant Rao said that students, teachers, parents, school administrators are being asked to follow safety related points.

It was said that responsibilities should be distributed among all teachers on a roster basis during every activity in the school so that every student of the school remains under the supervision of teachers throughout the school hours and under no circumstances should classes be conducted in a dilapidated building.
Ensure that no student goes towards the dilapidated building. In case there is a pond near the school, it will be the responsibility of every teacher to ensure that no student goes near the pond. If a high tension wire passes over the building, the process of removing the high tension wire should be initiated immediately by informing the higher authorities.

It was said that if the school is situated on the roadside, then the teacher himself should help the students cross the road during school break, and the teacher must reach the school when the students arrive. All the teachers should follow the time table prescribed by the government.
In order to create safety awareness among students in the school, instructions were given to organize competitions like essay writing, painting, speech and debate and rangoli etc. on various standard points. In which students securing first, second and third positions should be awarded at school, Nyaya Panchayat and block level.
