India-Sri Lanka series schedule released: The first T20 match will be played on July 26 in Pallekele; Hasaranga left the captaincy before the tour

Team India will tour Sri Lanka for three T20 and as many ODI matches in late July and early August. The T20 series will start on 26 July and the ODI series on 1 August.
The Pallekele International Cricket Stadium will host the T20 matches, followed by the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo for the ODIs, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board said on Thursday.
Rahul or Pandya can captain
After Rohit Sharma’s retirement, India is yet to choose a new captain in the T20 format. Hardik Pandya is currently leading the race. He can also be made the captain of the ODI team on the Sri Lanka tour. However, wicketkeeper batsman KL Rahul can also lead the team in ODIs on this tour.
Also rested from Zimbabwe tour, sent young team
The Indian team is currently playing a 5 T20 match series against Zimbabwe. The selectors have sent a young team under the captaincy of Shubman Gill for this tour.
Currently, Team India is tied 1-1 in the series. India had to face a defeat of 13 runs in the first match. After this, Team India defeated Zimbabwe by 100 runs in the second match and equalized the series. The third match of this series will be played on July 10.
Rohit-Kohli, Bumrah may get rest from Sri Lanka tour
BCCI may rest senior players of the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup last week, captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jaspreet Bumrah from the Sri Lanka tour. Hardik Pandya or KL Rahul may be given the captaincy of the ODI team.
