Agra Divisional Commissioner and ADG Agra Zone inspected the Parikrama route for the Mudia Purnima fair to be held from 17th July to 22nd July in Govardhan, Mathura. During this, the Commissioner instructed that all preparations should be completed as soon as possible. So that during the fair, the people can get the required facilities.

Planting done before inspection
To provide better facilities to the devotees and to take stock of the preparations at the State Mudia Purnima Fair, Commissioner Ritu Maheshwari held a meeting with the District Magistrate and all the administrative staff and reviewed the preparations.

PWD officials assured to complete all the work by Sunday
During the inspection, PWD informed the commissioner that 31 watch towers, 35 police posts, 62 parking lots, 110 barriers and all the ponds with nets etc. will be completed by Sunday. The medical department talked about setting up a temporary hospital with four beds in the old tehsil and a 30-bed hospital in Govardhan health center and round the clock duty of doctors at various booths. Serious patients will be sent to the district hospital and Sau Saiyya hospital.

More than 1000 sanitation workers will handle the system
The Divisional Commissioner directed to get all the lights on the Parikrama Marg repaired, install 17 TFCs for pure drinking water on the entire Parikrama Marg, install display boards of emergency service numbers on the Parikrama and get all the signage boards (directional signs) repaired.

The Nagar Panchayat informed that 841 sanitation workers and 56 supervisors have been deployed for sanitation, 11 tractor trolleys and 9 small vehicles for garbage disposal, 25 mobile toilets in the entire fair area for which adequate number of employees have been deployed for regular cleaning and water arrangements.

The Divisional Commissioner also gave instructions for better cleanliness. He also instructed the electricity department to provide 24 hour electricity, wrap all poles with plastic, arrange for generators at special places and asked for the help of the temple committee.

During the fair, eight water tenders, four high pressure water mist and five fire bikes of the fire department will be deployed. The commissioner said that all the fire fighting equipment installed in the temples or being installed by the department on the Parikrama route should be ensured that all are working.

After the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner inspected the Govardhan Parikrama route on a golf cart along with the District Magistrate and subordinate officers. He inspected the toilets built at various places for the convenience of the devotees. During this, there was no water supply in a toilet built near Poohri’s Lautha. Street lights were out at various places on the route. He gave instructions to get them repaired immediately.

ADG tested the security arrangements
ADG Agra Zone Anupama Kulshreshtha reached Govardhan and took stock of the arrangements so that the devotees do not face any kind of problem in the Mudia Purnima fair. IG Deepak Kumar and SSP, who arrived with the ADG, gave information about the security arrangements.

After inspection, ADG held a meeting with the officials in the guest house of Public Works Department. In the meeting, DM and SSP gave information about the arrangements made through the projector. Along with this, they also told about 5 points where the pressure of the crowd will be the highest. During the meeting which lasted for about 1 hour, ADG Anupama Kulshreshtha gave necessary instructions to her subordinate officers.
