Actually the agent kept taking money from the customers and entering fraudulent details in the passbook. One after another many such customers came with complaints against the agent. When the matter of scam of crores of rupees by the agent came to light, there was an uproar in the department. A departmental inquiry was conducted on the complaint. After investigation, in this matter on Saturday evening Assistant Superintendent Post Office Southern Sub Division Daraganj Arjit Kumar Soni filed a complaint in Daraganj police station. It is alleged that Neeti Shrivastava, resident of Alopibagh, had taken the agency of the agent in Daraganj Sub Post Office.
He, along with his brother Nikhil and sister-in-law Gauri Srivastava, residents of Daraganj, took money from customers but did not deposit it in the post office. The accused together embezzled crores of rupees. Not only this, fake passbooks were also given to the customers. Nikhil has died. Police station in-charge post office Tushar Dutt Tyagi said that on the basis of the complaint, a case has been registered against Nikhil, Neeti and Gauri Srivastava under several sections including fraud.
