The seized mobile phones and accessories were being brought from Delhi in a car to be supplied to a businessman’s shop in Baldev Plaza. The team followed the car from Gida to Golghar. As soon as the car started unloading the goods at Baldev Plaza, the goods were seized.

Shops of Baldev Plaza were closed during the raid
At the time of the raid, most of the shops in Baldev Plaza were closed. During the investigation, when the team asked the car riders for the papers of the goods, they were able to show the bills but could not show the e-way bill. After this, the team confiscated all the goods.

Recovery seen from town hall
However, GST officers claim that they have recovered this material from near Town Hall. Whereas, according to the shopkeepers of Baldev Plaza, the GST team has recovered this material from the ATS lane of the plaza. The shopkeepers also have CCTV footage of this.

Penalty deposited Rs 2.50 lakh
According to GST officers, this goods were brought from Delhi without any documents. The goods were brought from Delhi via sleeper bus. GST officers seized the goods and took them to the GST office. After this, the businessman was made to deposit a penalty of Rs 2.50 lakh.

GST’s eye on illegal business
Additional Commissioner Grade-2 Sanjay Kumar said- The department is keeping a close watch on illegal traders. Such action will continue in future as well. Strict action will be taken against anyone found doing business without documents.
