On Thursday, on the 11th day of Muharram, the Shia community in Varanasi took out a procession of the caravan looted from Dalmandi. The Qadimi procession, i.e. the drum of silence, started from the residence of Dr. Nazim Jafri with Alam and Duldul, carrying the message of the victory of Imam Hussain and the martyrs of Karbala. On Thursday afternoon, the convoy’s procession started from Dalmandi with great pomp and show. People thronged to visit Duldul who was part of the procession. The procession reached the Nai Sadak crossing through its traditional routes. Farman Haider presented the poem, “If you have the courage, tell the Prophet in the court, we do not mourn for the living Javed.”

On the old route of the procession, the scholars delivered their speeches. When they described the scene of the looted caravan in their speeches, the people of the Shia community started crying. A crowd of women and children of the Shia community also gathered on the way to watch the procession.

The procession will reach Dargah Fatman via Nai Sadak, Sheikh Salim Phatak, Kalimahal, Pitarkunda, Lallapura. Where tributes were paid to the shrine of Imam Hussain’s family.
