The condition of anaemia is determined by the level of haemoglobin in a patient.
The condition of anaemia occurs when there are not enough red blood cells in the body or haemoglobin, which are required to carry oxygen throughout the whole body. According to the experts, the level of haemoglobin in a man, woman and a child, are found to be slightly varying. An expert from the district of Pudukkottai, Tamil Nadu, provides more insight on the symptoms of the condition and how to handle it. On an average, men should have haemoglobin between the levels of 14.5 gm to 15.5 gm, while the woman must have it between 13.5 gm to 14.5 gm and in children it should be around 16 gm to 17 gm.
According to doctor Vanaja, the condition of anaemia is determined by the level of haemoglobin in a patient. If it is between the levels of 10 grams to 11 grams, the condition will be called mild anaemia and 9 grams to 10 grams will lead to a moderate anaemia. When the haemoglobin is less than the level of 8, the patient will suffer from severe anaemia.
The doctor states further that the condition has several symptoms, one must be aware of. The symptoms include pale skin appearance, shortness of breath, dizziness, constant lethargy, anxiety, pale colour of fingernails and more. The doctor reveals further that women are more prone to the condition of anaemia, due to menstruation and childbirth.
The women who are in their breastfeeding period can suffer from the condition, if their iron intake is low. Women who are careless about their diets can also suffer from anaemia. So, to keep the condition at bay one must include a lot of spinach to their diets. They should also consume food items like amla, tomato, lemon, dates, raisins, almonds and yoghurt. A balanced diet is the key to keep anaemia at bay.
