Congress State President took a resolution one year after the demolition of Sarva Seva Sangh.
Congress leaders held a satyagraha outside the Sarva Seva Sangh building demolished a year ago at Rajghat in Varanasi. They pledged to save the last legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, Vinoba Bhave and Jai Prakash Narayan. A judicial inquiry was demanded in the matter and the land was returned to the Sarva Seva Sangh.

The Congress leaders were stopped by the police and administration. After much effort, only five people were allowed to garland the Gandhi statue. The Congress leaders who came out staged a dharna on the road and took a pledge of Satyagraha. After the pledge of Satyagraha, a memorandum addressed to the President was sent, demanding a judicial inquiry into the Sarva Seva Sangh case.

On Monday, a large number of workers reached Rajghat under the leadership of Congress state president Ajay Rai. He said that a year ago the administration conspiratorially occupied the historical site. The buildings were demolished illegally without any court order.
Ajay Rai alleged that the top officials of Banaras spread the lie that Sarva Seva Sangh has occupied the railway land whereas Sarva Seva Sangh had purchased 12.89 acres of land from Northern Railway through three deeds in 1960, 1961 and 1970. The name of Sarva Seva Sangh was also mentioned in the revenue records – Khatauni for decades.
